52-54 Black real Bakelite Pickguard

A very, very rare and sought-after pickguard, this is cut from genuine black bakelite and is 1.5mm (0.06") thick as were found on the very first Telecasters to leave the Fender Fullerton factory back at the beginning of the 1950s in the form of the famous blackguard. Any Telecaster up until 1956 carried this Bakelite scratchplate (before being replaced with a white scratchplate as standard from 1956).

Includes a 5" Nitro can ring to the rear (as has popularly been found on the original guitars) and includes the superficial wearing, scuffs and rust markings you would expect to find on a scratchplate of this vintage.

Cut for the original vintage five-hole arrangement this will fit original instruments as well as Fender's American and Mexican 1950s reissue guitars.

A direct evolution of the Fender Broadcaster, the Esquire was a short-lived run of single-pickup guitars produced by Fender in Fullerton at the end of the 1940s and beginning of the '50s before being replaced completely by the Telecaster.

A very rare and sought-after pickguard, this is cut from genuine black bakelite and is 1.5mm (0.06") thick as was originally found on these vintage Esquires. As an option the Esquire was also available with a white guard (as seen on the original Broadcaster).

Aging includes the superficial wearing, scuffs and rust markings you would expect to find on a scratchplate of this vintage.

50s White Aged Pickguard for Esquire*

A direct evolution of the Fender Broadcaster, the Esquire was a short-lived run of single-pickup guitars produced by Fender in Fullerton at the end of the 1940s and beginning of the '50s before being replaced completely by the Telecaster.

This is cut from buffed white plastic to accurately replicate the original white bakelite used and is 1.5mm (0.06") thick as was originally found on these vintage Esquires. Although the Esquire was predominantly built with a black bakelite scratchplate, white is often the more sought-after option allowing relic guitar builders the chance to rebuild Leo Fender's famous broadcaster as well as the Esquires that closely followed.

Aging includes the superficial wearing, scuffs and rust markings you would expect to find on a scratchplate of this vintage.
